Last year they made up “romance” articles about nearly everyone. Bobby, Diane, Elle and Gio then Elle and Bobby, all fictional.
So sad he had to quit due to the tabloids, no one else!
Like say Huw Edward’s, trial by tabloid, no evidence, his mental health, denied by everyone.
I don’t doubt the tabloids often fabricate things, but we’ve got no proof he’s had to quit due to them. Heck, we don’t even know if he’s actually quit until we get an announcement from him and/or the BBC.
As others have said, he’s got a fair few opportunities outside the show so he might just want to focus on them.
Amanda was beside herself with rapture when she met Gio and climbed him like a pole. Then she scuttled off with her thank you list which included the cleaner and the tea lady but not her partner.
She is of course entitled to feel however she feels but she really should have said something concrete. Her innuendos and obscure social media posts just stirred the pot. Not to mention her gathering with other ex parters of Gios to compare notes over coffee and buns. She knew what she was doing.
Anyway, doubtless he'll be showering in speedos on I'm a Celeb in a few months so his fans will get their fix.
I think he's one of the most talented dancers in the show along with Kai, Nikita and Johannes.
Sorry to see him go if he does but don't blame him for leaving. Rags never gave up on him, wonder who will be their next target?
I agree about Amanda, she knew what she was doing.
Totally agree with this.
I think it would’ve been more of a loss before the new wave of pros - I’d choose to be partnered with the likes of Nikita (my top choice), Kai, Vito or Carlos any day.
Yeah, I wouldn't want to be called a snowflake if I wasn't keen on being berated for 12 hours, or accused of fancying him if I complained.
I'm in
Katya and Karen both have previous history to rake over, so I guess they will start there until something new turns up
Amy and Nikkita seem bullet proof
Probably Dianne as well as the fan base is strong
Luba has changed nationality from Russian to British, would they stoop that low?
Unless I'm mistaken, it's only Karen who is also still in the show from Series 13, Giovanni's first series, so spreading his wings and trying other things sounds like the natural progression after so many years.
It’s her experience, she doesn’t owe it to anyone to explain. It can take weeks or months to step back and realize the severity of a situation. I’m not saying the claims are true, only those 2 know what actually went down but I don’t like the assumption that she was automatically in the wrong and the one to blame.
BIB: I agree, but also think that cuts the other way, too.
Plenty of posters have decided the innuendos/allegations against Gio are true without knowledge of went down.
Things may come out in the wash, or they may not.
Yes it works both ways. Most of the posts I have seen though are blaming Amanda which I find unfair, like I said i’m not a fan of hers in the slightest but if multiple of his partners came out and said similar things why aren’t they getting attacked for it?
I feel like the partners that have “spoken out” against Gio have all sadly received backlash too, maybe not on the same level as Amanda but they’ve not been immune.
I definitely remember people acting like Laura was a diva even though it’s fair not to want to dance with your friend’s ex.
Others have insinuated Ranvir has only spoken up because she “fancied him” and he “rejected her”, and people acted like Richie being “annoying” warranted him not getting the experience he should’ve had.
I’m not sure equal opportunity “attacking” is a way forward, but to take your question at face-value, I suppose Amanda’s “case” is current and has caused the most waves and that would be why she and Giovanni have copped the majority of flak.
It would be better if none of the known and supposed protagonists were condemned in the current vacuum of known facts.
I agree that no one should be condemned. My point was about double standards, I wasn’t implying the other women should be attacked.
Anyone who saw Abbington on the Weakest Link and Whitmore on basically anything would know they are the problem, not him.
They have made stuff up about him, and basically stalked him, photos on smoke breaks etc, it’s enough pressure to make anyone quit.
I agree re the Weakest link, her attitude was disgusting. Anyone watch on iPlayer who missed it, she didn’t seem friendly at all.
If we're measuring on a scale the only other celeb who comes close to Amanda in terms of actually coming out and saying things (thus far) is Laura. With all the others it's tabloids reporting that they've complained to producers, or they've said something on Loose Women that could reasonably be read as joking, or really petty social media things. One article I just read seriously cited "Richie unfollowed Pernice on Instagram" as evidence of...well, anything. When you throw in the twin sensitive topics of supposed legal action and PTSD (and tbh, Amanda being chronically online) I don't think it's any surprise she's getting it worse than anyone else from the more frothy end of his fanbase.
Unfortunately that’s what they do with a lot of the pros, it’s not just him. I remember them using long lenses to watch Bobby and Dianne/Nigel and Katya rehearsing to imply something that’s not true…
Unless Gio ever confirms that’s the reason he’s “quitting”, I just don’t think it should be assumed.
