Japanese rock band King Gnu recently announced their collaboration with Daniel Caesar and teased the upcoming release of their joint project.

Following their triumphant first Asia tour, which included seven sold-out shows in Singapore, Taipei, Seoul, and Shanghai, King Gnu, known for their hit songs for the Jujutsu Kaisen franchise such as "Specialz," concluded their tour on a high note.

After the trek, the rockers spoke with NME and revealed their next projects, including the one they prepared with Caesar.

"Speaking of music, I wanted to ask about collaborations. Tsuneta-san, you were in the studio with Daniel Caesar last year. How did that happen?" the news outlet asked Daiki Tsuneta, King Gnu's main songwriter and vocalist.

"There is a musician called Saya Gray, Daniel's bassist - we met through her. We created about three songs together, which will be released in the near future," said Tsuneta.

King Gnu released their latest album, The Greatest Unknown, around in 2023. It contained songs for the anime adaptation of Akutami Gege's hit manga series, Jujutsu Kaisen.

When NME asked whether the band created new music for the upcoming new season of Jujutsu Kaisen, bassist Kazuki Arai made everyone laugh when he said they could not disclose information about it.

The next season of Jujutsu Kaisen, which will cover the manga's Culling Game arc, might be released in 2025.

King Gnu did the opening and ending theme of Jujutsu Kaisen's Shibuya Incident arc and Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie.

On the other hand, Caesar has not commented on his project with King Gnu. However, he released his latest LP, Never Enough, nearly four years after his Case Study 01 in 2019.

When asked about his record and making it "at a more sustainable place," he told Grammy.com that he was burnt out before working on it.

"It's still tough all the time, but I've proven to myself that at least I'm not gonna give up. The horse is gonna have to buck me off, I don't even know if it's in me to bow out gracefully and get off the horse," said Caesar.
