Remember that fun dress debate that had everyone getting their eyes checked? It was a simple picture of a dress that some saw as black and blue while others could only see it as being white and gold.

The debate swiftly took over the internet, and the man behind the picture, Keir Johnston, went viral with it. He appeared on Ellen with his wife, Clare. The fame didn't last, because at the end of the day it was just a fleeting viral moment.

Some years later, in 2022, Keir Johnston was arrested for trying to strangle his wife. He had stopped her from going for a job and they argued while Keir was getting drunk at the local pub. When he returned home, things got physical, leading to his arrest.

Now, he has admitted to the crime in front of a court. Clare Johnston claims she lived in fear of her husband for eleven years, which wasn't helped by the fact the island they live on doesn't have a permanent police presence.
