I’m sure this is because I’m old, but most of the sayings young people say now. “These tacos are fire” or “this drink slaps”. It’s fire? Slaps? If it’s good just say it’s good

I hate these too. And yes, I'm also old. Fire sounds so dumb. Yeah, I get it, taking "hot" to its logical conclusion, but what next? "This burger is the sun fam."

And "slaps" gets on my nerves. He slaps makes sense, if talking about a musician really playing pro on the drums (or bass), which I think is where it originated, but fuck me, it's been so appropriated that even an inanimate food item "slaps" now. Urgh. Get off my lawn.

When people say something is "problematic", as if just saying that is enough.

Anytime the word “whilst” is used

Be optimistic.

This too shall pass.

Life is what you make it.

Not to say these have no truth to them but they are useless to anyone suffering. People need real help not empty words.

When someone refers to working hard as to "busting ass"... Makes me cringe every time

"It's everything"

What, even cancer? Poverty? Japanese Knot Weed? Prolapse? Drowning? Nah. Not good.

I've heard this was a misheard quote from Bart Simpson, watching "Stop the Planet of The Apes - I Want to Get off!" where he actually says "this play has everything" and people misheard it, figuring it sounded like something pretentious theatre people say. Be it the case or not, it's so overused, even though it makes no sense and just sounds dumb af to me. Same vibes as "I could" care less, just twattier.
