CARMEL, Ind. - The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference has announced Transylvania Baseball Senior
Trent Youngblood has been named the 2024 HCAC Player of the Year. Youngblood becomes the first Transylvania Baseball player since Trey Simpson in 2015 to earn HCAC Player of the Year*.
Youngblood has been in the top ten in the country in multiple stat categories all season long, and leads the country in walks with 55 and walks per game with 1.25. He is currently twelfth in NCAA DIII with a .451 batting average, and is second in NCAA DIII with a .608 on base percentage. Youngblood's 69 runs are second best in the country, and he is fourth in runs per game.
Trent led the HCAC in average, OPS, runs, slugging percentage, walks, on base percentage, and stolen bases.
Youngblood has been a record breaker this season, cementing his legacy as one of the best, if not the best Transylvania Baseball player of all time. Youngblood became the Transylvania hit king earlier this season when he earned his 219th career hit against Rose-Hulman, a home run.
Youngblood also holds the career triples record, doubles record, walks record, total bases record, stolen bases record, and runs record. He is the single season leader in stolen bases and runs scored.Â
