The broad daylight attack last week on  'Boardwalk Empire' actor Steve Buscemi is the latest in a string of random assaults on celebrities in New York City.

Buscemi, 66, was sucker-punched in the face as he walked down the street in Manhattan. He suffered bruising, swelling and bleeding to his left eye. The NYPD says they are looking for 50-year-old Clifton Williams in connection with the assault.

Buscemi's fellow "Boardwalk Empire" actor Michael Stuhlbarg was also recently attacked.

On March 31, a homeless man punched Stuhlbarg in Central Park.

Stuhlbarg suffered a small bruise and said he didn't need any medical attention, according to the NYPD. An arrest was made in that case.

In another incident, Broadway actor John Cardoza was robbed in a Manhattan Dunkin store on Easter Sunday.

The suspect allegedly pretended to have a gun in his pocket and managed to snatch the actor's wallet, which contained $9.

In October 2020, a homeless man allegedly punched actor Rick Moranis in Manhattan. Marquis Ventura was accused of a string of attacks over a six-month period.

Prosecutors say the same day as the attack on 67-year-old Rick Moranis, Ventura also punched the owner of a New York liquor store and stole a bottle of champagne.

Former "Real Housewives of New York" star Bethany Frankel also claims she was recently attacked on a NYC street, according to New York Post's Page Six. She claimed in March in a TikTok post she was looking at apartments when a homeless man randomly punched her with a "closed fist".

Other women have come forward on TikTok claiming they were assaulted in New York, saying that the trend of women getting attacked at random is a growing one.
