'Garena Free Fire' Mobile Game Gets Anime Adaptation By Studio Behind 'Bungo Stray Dogs'

Another massive collaboration in the works.

Japanese media giant Kadokawa and Singaporean game developer and publisher Garena have revealed that they will be collaborating on an anime adaptation of Garena Free Fire, a battle royale shooting mobile game

As reported by Crunchyroll, details about the upcoming anime's plot or style are scarce. However, Kadokawa's overseas branch in China, Kadokawa Blue Feather, will be responsible for producing the anime.

Kadokawa is the studio known for producing hit anime titles such as KonoSuba, Kimi no Nawa, Seishun Buta Yarou wa Bunny Girl Senpai, Overlord, Shield Hero, Bungou Stray Dogs, Made In Abyss, and Mushoku Tensei.

Given Garena's history of collaborations with notable anime series such as Attack on Titan, One Punch Man, and Demon Slayer, it's not surprising that the company is now creating its own anime adaptation.

They've also collaborated with brands such as the Italian exotic automaker Lamborghini. Check out the collaboration video below:

Garena Free Fire is a third-person shooter game within the battle royale genre. In this genre, players are dropped onto a large island with dozens of others, where they must scavenge for supplies and weapons.

The goal is to be the last person standing, achieved through various strategies such as actively hunting down other players or employing stealth tactics, waiting for others to eliminate each other.
