Mary Margaret “Peg” Wilson, 89, of Lacon, Illinois passed away on May 2, 2024 at the ARC of Chillicothe, Illinois. Born on October 18, 1934 in Peoria to the late James and Margaret (Winsouer) Green, she married Jerome “Jerry” G. Wilson on December 18, 1954 in Peoria. Jerry passed away on July 28, 2020.
Surviving are her daughters Chris (Ken) Baum, Erin (David) Olson, Teri (Tim) Allen all of Lacon; son Troy (Kelly) Wilson of Avondale, Arizona; sisters Janice Powell of Peoria, Illinois, Kathy Green of Galesburg, Illinois; grandchildren Steven Schlosser, Nichole (Keith) Miller, Amy (Matt) Junker, Ashley (Jeremy) Van Fossen, Mitchell (Ashley) Allen, Cory Allen, Nicholas Wilson, Jonathan Wilson; 12 great grandchildren; one great great grandson; and several nieces & nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her infant son Jerome; sister Muriel Glenn; brothers-in-law Seth Glenn & Claude Powell; and nieces Linda Glenn & Lisa Winchell.
Peg was employed by the US Postal Service as a Postal carrier, at Piper’s drugstore (later Low-Cost Pharmacy) as a pharmacy technician, and was a floral designer at Appel’s Greenhouse and Kroger in Chillicothe. She enjoyed playing cards with her buddies, crafting, her flowers & plants, and of course shopping.
The family would like to express thanks to the wonderful caregivers at Chillicothe ARC and her Transitions Hospice team.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a private graveside service will be held at a later date at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lacon.
