Video: Vince Carter Says Tracy McGrady Will Help Induct Him Into 2024 Basketball HOF

Vince Carter will have a fellow Hall of Famer induct him into the Naismith Basketball Hall Of Fame as the headliner of the 2024 class.

And that fellow Hall of Famer just so happens to be his cousin.

During an appearance on Run It Back with Michelle Beadle on Thursday, Carter revealed that Tracy McGrady will be one of the people who helps induct him during the Oct. 12 and 13 ceremonies.

"I can confirm T-Mac [Tracy McGrady] will be there, he's one of the guys that I asked, and he was like 'Hell yeah, I was waiting for you to call me!'" Carter said.

Carter is one of 13 inductees in the class of 2024 and will be joined by the likes of Chauncey Billups, Michael Cooper, Jerry West (as a contributor), and others. McGrady was inducted as part of the class of 2017.

The two played together on the Toronto Raptors for two seasons from 1998 to 2000 before McGrady eventually signed with the Orlando Magic. Carter remained in Toronto into his seventh season before it traded him to the New Jersey Nets.

McGrady and Carter both competed in the famous 2000 NBA Slam Dunk Contest with the former throwing the bounce pass that Carter took and brought between his legs before throwing down the jam and eventually taking home the victory.

Carter also played for the Magic, Phoenix Suns, Dallas Mavericks, Memphis Grizzlies, Sacramento Kings and Atlanta Hawks until he retired after the 2019-20 campaign.
