ITV panel show Sorry, I Didn’t Know has been commissioned for a fifth series.

Jimmy Akingbola (In the Long Run) hosts the show, while Chizzy Akudolu (Criminal Record) and Eddie Kadi (Strictly Come Dancing) are the team captains. Together with each episode’s guests, Chizzy and Eddie give it their all against a series of questions mainly looking at Black history.

Sorry, I Didn’t Know has led progress since its inception, being the first TV quiz show in the UK to focus on Black history. It has now become the longest-running show on ITV from a Black-led production company.

The pilot aired in 2016, with the show returning in 2020 for a full series as part of Black History Month.

The show will also recruit a trainee writer as part of a programme that spans several departments, funded by ITV’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion department. Former trainees will be returning to the show in more senior roles.

“We’re thrilled to be working with ITV once more on this groundbreaking series and are looking forward to showcasing the best in new and established on screen comedy talent,” said executive producer Fraser Ayres.
