It may not be in the cards for a sequel to Morbius to happen anytime soon given the film's negative critical reception and so-so box office, but actor Tyrese Gibson, who co-starred in the first movie, is ready to come back for some 'Morbin Time.' Whatever the response may have been to the first installment, Gibson appears to have had a great time working on the movie, although he does express some disappointment over some of his deleted scenes.

During a conversation with CBR, Gibson made it clear that he's ready to come back as Agent Simon Stroud. The actor said:

"I'm waiting on the call. I would be honored to dance with [director] Daniel Espinosa and the crew again."

Should a sequel be made, Gibson hopes that he can do some of the things his character was intended to do in the first film. The character was supposed to have a "hi-tech weapons-grade arm" that would have made him a viable threat to Jared Leto's Morbius, but the man we saw in the movie didn't possess any special abilities. The actor's role was reduced significantly in the film's final cut, which included the angle of him having a superpowered arm, something that Gibson was disappointed about when he finally saw the movie.

"I don't know. The arm was in the trailer, and I definitely had to put that thing on for at least two to three hours a day in the make-up trailer, so, I don't know. It felt like it went from 'This is what we're going to do,' to some type of issues that they had in post-production. Something. I don't know."

Michael Keaton reprised his role as Vulture in Morbius, but it seems the actor knows as much about it as the rest of us.

Morbius stars Jared Leto as the titular character and follows himself and his surrogate brother Milo (Matt Smith) as they become living vampires after curing themselves of a rare blood disease. Gibson's Agent Simon Stroud, is one of two agents alongside Al Rodriguez (Al Madrigal) who is tasked with investigating Morbius' alleged victims and his involvement in the crimes. In addition to some of his scenes being deleted that featured him with special abilities, the actor says that some of the action that he filmed was also reduced in the final edit.

"I definitely did a lot of scenes that was chopped out of the movie. I had a full-on fight, and brawl, with the villain, Matt Smith. I had a full-on fight scene with Matt Smith in London, where we filmed at a park, and it was crazy. And my arm was all over that scene, and they chopped that out of the movie, because I guess the presence of the arm, you wouldn't have been able to edit around that."

After several delays mostly attributed to the COVID-19 pandemic, Morbius finally hit screens on April 1, 2022, and it was met with extremely negative reviews. The film carries a dismal 15 percent on Rotten Tomatoes and the movie's box office also left a lot to be desired. Morbius grossed a mere $73.9 million domestically and $167.5 million on a $75 million budget.

Morbius can currently be streamed on Disney+.
