Sisodia has been in custody since February 26, 2023, after arrest by the CBI. Thereafter, he was arrested by the ED on March 9, 2023.

Delhi Police on Tuesday took Bibhav Kumar, the former personal secretary of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to Mumbai in connection with the assault on AAP Rajya Sabha member Swati Maliwal, police official privy to the probe said.“Kumar had formatted his phone on May 17, citing a malfunction. Kumar is taken to Mumbai to retrieve the data as he had formatted the phone there,” said the official.On May 18, CM Kejriwal's close aide Bibhav Kumar was arrested in connection with the assault on Maliwal and produced late at night before a local court which sent him to a five-day police custody.

Kejriwal further asked Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath that he should focus on the enemies within his party instead of abusing him. "Yesterday Yogi (Adityanath) came to Delhi as well. He has also abused me. Your enemies are in your party. What will you gain by abusing me? PM and Amit Shah have planned to remove you from the chief minister's post. The ED on Monday had sought extension of Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal's judicial custody after he surrenders on June 2 in an excise policy-linked money-laundering case. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) moved the application before Special Judge for ED and CBI Kaveri Baweja, seeking 14-day judicial custody for Kejriwal when he surrenders on June 2, claiming that the period of judicial custody granted earlier ends on Monday.

Delhi excise policy case: Enforcement Directorate moves an application in court seeking 14-day extension of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal's judicial custody ahead of 2nd June.

While allowing five-day custodial interrogation of Bibhav Kumar in the Swati Maliwal “assault case”, a Delhi court noted that remand was a “necessity” in the matter. In the order passed at 12.45am Sunday, metropolitan magistrate (MM) Gaurav Goyal partly allowed the plea in which police had sought seven day custody.“Considering the submissions made on behalf of both parties, I find there is a necessity of police custody remand in the present case. Accordingly, the application moved by the investigating officer (IO) is partly allowed and the accused is remanded to police custody for five days,” the court said.It noted the prosecution’s submissions about the need to take Kumar to Mumbai and other parts of the national capital to collect evidence, which was not possible without the accused’s custody.The MM further noted that he is “aware of the view of constitutional courts that the opportunity must be given to the investigating agency to complete the investigation in order to reach the truth of the matter but at the same time the rights of the accused are also to be protected.”Asking the IO to take Kumar into formal custody, the court directed his medical examination every 24 hours and said the investigating agency would not subject the accused to “any torture.”Kumar’s application for providing certain medicines was allowed after the end of proceedings, which started around 9.15pm Saturday.

His claim that AAP is an ideology is "bogus", he added. His only ideology is "loot and corruption", he said.
