The upcoming clash in Bengaluru, which faces the threat of rain, will be a virtual ‘Eliminator’ of sorts with one of the two southern rivals joining Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad in the playoffs that take place next week.

The upcoming clash, however, assumes a lot more significance given it could be the last time fans witness Virat Kohli vs MS Dhoni on the field, with the latter widely expected to call time on his playing career at the end of the 17th season.

If that indeed turns out to be the case and only one of the two teams can progress to the playoffs, then Saturday’s clash will be the last time these two giants of Indian cricket meet each other on the field as players.
