WWE RAW May 20, 2024 episode feature the semifinals of King of the Ring & Queen of the Ring tournaments. Awesome Truth defended World Tag Team Champioinship against Judgment Day. A fatal 4-way match took place to find the new #1 contender for Women’s Tag Team Championship. Check below for the complete results from WWE RAW this week.

RESULTS & UPDATES

Sami Zayn came out to the ring to open the show and said he would defend Intercontinental Championship in a triple threat match as he was trying to tackle two issues at the same time. Chad Gable came out with the rest of the Alpha Academy and took shots at Sami for calling him manipulative, gave examples of training Sami to win the title and sticking with Alpha Academy members despite their losses. Sami asked Alpha Academy how long would they put up with Gable. Gable replied that they had re-dedicated to him. He also claimed to pin Sami in the triple threat match to take his soul.

Chad Gable defeated Sami Zayn in a singles match. Gable told Otis to interfere in the match but he did not. Sami had set up Gable but Gable ran a distraction for the referee when finally Otis hit Sami with a clothesline in the corner. Gable then hit Chaos Theory to get the pinfall.

After the break, Jackie Redmond was interviewing Alpha Academy which was quickly interrupted by a ruckus behind them. We see LWO members running to get to Cruz Del Toro who was lying down holding his leg after being attacked by someone.

Bron Breakker defeated Kale Dixon in a singles match. Breakker was miffed at not being part of King of the Ring tournament which was driving him mad. Breakker hit a spear right out of the gate before he threw Dixon out of the ring. Breakker took a running start around the ring to hit a vicious spear. The referee called the match citing Dixon being unable to continue. Breakker took a running start when the referee helped Dixon to get up and hit another spear. Several officials ran out trying to stop Breakker but he went on to hit Dixon with a chair shot.

After the break, we see Adam Pearce putting Dixon in the ambulance. He shouted at Breakker upon seeing him. Breakker replied that it was Pearce’s fault for not putting him in King of the Ring.

Lyra Valkyrie defeated Iyo Sky in the semifinal of Queen of the Ring tournament. The match went for 3 segments with the competitors showing great chemistry. Lyra avoided Over the Moonsault from Iyo and tried to hit Nightwing, but Iyo slipped to attempt a roll up. Lyra countered the roll up and held onto Iyo’s legs to get the pinfall.

After the match, Jackie Redmond came to the ring to interview Valkyria. Iyo grabbed the mic and yelled at Lyra in Japanese before handing it back to her. Lyra gave a short interview about making it to the finals.

Awesome Truth were backstage where R-Truth told The Miz that he asked Andre the Giant to have their back during their title defense. The Miz tried to tell R-Truth that Andre had been dead for a long time.

Ilja Dragunov was interviewed backstage when Ricochet came to him to tell that things between them were not over. Bron Breakker suddenly attacked them and took Ricochet into the crates behind them.

We saw a promo from Gunther from earlier where he acknowledged how over Jey Uso was, but it would help him beat him as it would eventually come down to being a better wrestler.

Judgment Day were backstage where Carlito joined them to ask Damian Priest if saw what he did to Cruz Del Toro. Priest told him to keep earning his keep, but they are not his personal security.

Zoey Stark and Shayna Baszler were backstage where Sonya Deville made her return as introduced herself to Zoey. Baszler snubbed her and took away Zoey.

Awesome Truth(The Miz & R-Truth)(c) defeated Judgment Day (JD McDonagh & Finn Balor) to retain World Tag Team Championship. R-Truth had McDonagh down but Carlito put McDonagh’s leg on the ropes for a break. Braun Strowman then ran out to scare off Carlito before R-Truth hit him with Attitude Adjustment to get the pinfall. Strowman celebrated with Awesome Truth after the match.

Lyra Valkyria and Becky Lynch had a brief chat backstage before Becky went out. Liv Morgan confronted Lyra and punched her.

Bronson Reed confronts Sami Zayn backstage and told him he has no soul and he planned on winning the WWE Intercontinental Championship in the triple threat match. After Reed left, Otis came and apologized to Sami Zayn for costing him the match. Zayn told Otis that he knew Otis was a good guy.

Women’s World Champion Becky Lynch came out to the ring for a promo. Liv Morgan interruptted her by coming out to the stage and called her selfish. Becky replied that everyone know that she just wanted to give the fans the best show possible. She asked Morgan to fight her right then and there. Morgan ran to the ringside before backing out and saying why would she not wait until the weekend.

Judgment Day were backstage once again where Damian Priest shouted at them for losing tonight. He ordered JD McDonagh to get a match against Braun Strowman next week.

Xavier Woods was getting checked out by the trainer in the medical room where he was decleared clear to compete. Kofi Kingston got excited about return to tag team action and went to talk to Adam Pearce about future matches for them. Woods got approached by Karrion Kross and his stable as he continued to play mind game with New Day.

Shayna Baszler & Zoey Stark defeated Damage CTRL (Kairi Sane & Dakota Kai), Ivy Nile & Maxxine Dupri, and Kayden Carter & Katana Chance in a fatal #1 Contenders for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship.

Kayla Braxton interviewed Ludwig Kaiser who assured that Gunther would beat Jey Uso tonight. He then addressed Sheamus saying that he could either stay at home and protect his legacy, or he can return so that Kaiser could send him packing again.

After Kaiser left, Drew McIntyre walked into the interview and ranted on not being booked even for a promo before talking briefly about Damian Priest and the King of the Ring tournament.

Chad Gable was talking to The Creed Brothers. Gable saw Otis after that where Otis told Gable that he apologized to Sami. Gable thought Otis apologized to Sami on purpose to pull his heart strings. Gable then forced Otis to book his tickets for Saudi Arabia to help him win Intercontinental title this weekend.

We cut to “Main Event” Jey Uso backstage. He did a fired-up promo before making his entrance in a single-camera shot.

Gunther defeated Jey Uso in the semifinal of King of the Ring tournament. Jey started the match on the strong note but Gunther sent him into the ring post to hurt his shoulder. Gunther worked the shoulder throughout which came in handy in putting him in a sleeper to put him to sleep. The referee called the stoppage when Jey could not hold his arm in the air.
