The Black Dahlia Murder - Favourite ‘underrated’ track
Hello gang,
What is your favourite TBDM song, that doesn’t get hyped like it ought? Don’t just say their most popular songs. We all like them. And I’m glad you do to, but I’m very specifically looking for songs that go overlooked - I appreciate it’s a matter of taste and ‘they are mELoDic dEATh MEtaL’ but I also know a high concentration of you reside here. For me - it’s map of scars, holy shit do they know how to finish an album. What’s yours?
Raped In Hatred By The Vines Of Thorn
P.S. Am I the only one who hears a huge influence of Cradle Of Filth in their work, especially when it comes to the vocals?
My answer also, closely followed by the window.
I love cradle of filth too, I guess it’s just black metal influence maybe?
I've seen a similar thread about TBDM recently and I'll say this again. I think Sepukku is their absolute best song. I can't comprehend how it was only a bonus track and I'm bummed it's not on Spotify.
The riff during the chorus is undefeated. Glad somebody mentioned this gem of a song.
A Selection Unnatural off Deflorate goes fucking hard. Some of the best lyrical flow out there.
Stygiophobic off Abysmal. It’s a shorter song but there’s a lot of oomph in it.
Den of the Picquerist starts at 100 and doesn’t let up the whole time.
Deflorate/Ritual is peak TBDM for me though, so I’m biased.
This song is the most perfect song in metal, I believe.
Den of the picquerist, i mean.
That Which Erodes the Most Tender of Things from Deflorate. That whole album has their meanest sounding songs on it but it seems pretty underrated among TBDM fans
Virally yours-nocturnal. I’ve never heard another person mention it lol. It’s my fave track off nocturnal, even tho there isn’t one bad song on that album
Grave robber's work (fav of all time for me)
Dave goes to hollywood
Apex
The Raven
Phantom limb has genuinely one of the most orgasmic solos (if that even makes sense) and I don't mean that in a pun-y way.
Seppuku (omg this has been a fav for a long time but forgot until another commenter wrote it here)
So much for one song.
Dave goes to Hollywood for me
The Blackest Incarnation
Funeral thirst - was the first song I heard from them in 4th grade (along with a SpongeBob music video and the original music video). Still love that song.
