Identity Consult rings the changes
The development and construction consultancy has announced a regional restructure and made director-level promotions as it seeks further North West growth.
Identity Consult offers a variety of services including project management, cost consultancy, risk management, development consultancy, environmental impact assessment, procurement support, and building information modelling. The company also launched a decarbonisation arm earlier this year.
Alex Atkinson has been promoted to senior director, taking charge of North West business operations across the region. Atkinson will oversee a 21-person team operating out of the Preston and Salford offices, which she led on the opening of in 2022.
She will also support her newly promoted counterpart in the North East, Andrew Milnes, with the pair collaborating as they lead their respective regions’ leadership team management structure; one that is set to be replicated in the Yorkshire region in due course.
Atkinson originally joined Identity Consult in 2017 where she was instrumental in the growth of the North West team, leading its growth beyond £2m turnover.
Speaking of her promotion she said: “I am delighted to further my career at Identity Consult, taking forward new opportunities as we seek to grow our portfolio and support clients across the North West.

The promotions also see Michelle Merry promoted to director of HR and social value, while Liz Sidgwick joins the North West team as associate director.
A former senior project manager at RPS, Liz has delivered property developments across multiple sectors across the North and is an active member of Women in Property.
She said: “I’m looking forward to making my mark at Identity Consult and joining an interesting and growing business. I can’t wait to collaborate with my new colleagues on our North West wide project portfolio.”
Other promotions in Salford and Preston include Chris Allsop’s move to associate director, supporting Simon Lomiiko, director of IC’s quantity surveying team. Heather Fitton, who recently passed her APC, has been promoted to associate, along with Gary Pinch who will join Fitton as associate and further bolster the senior QS team.

The news comes following a period of growth for Identity Consult; during the past year it has announced an increase in turnover to £6.575m from £5.79m, as well as an increase in headcount with five new colleagues joining the team across its offices in Salford, Preston, Sunderland and York.
Current North West projects for Identity Consult include Salford City Council’s Irwell Valley, an affordable Passivhaus resi project.
