Try your student number first and then if that doesn't work you use the 9 digit banking account number. No matter what you won't lose the money if one or the other doesn't work, it just won't go through

Pretty sure it is your 7 digit student number. It would be impossible for them to track invoices when people change banks all the time and their info can be different from year to year.
Your student number won't change, they'll have proof you paid them correctly if you use that
