Cicchetti, Forry & Barnhart Headline All-CC Softball Team

LANCASTER, Pa. -- Muhlenberg's Sophia Cicchetti, Gettysburg's Paige Forry and Washington College's Lexi Barnhart earned top awards while Haverford's Lauren Martin, Ursinus' Samantha Mallen and the Washington College coaching staff were also honored. 

Cicchetti, a senior outfielder for the Mules, is the fifth Mules to earn Player of the Year honors and first since Kelly Kline in 2012. Cicchetti led the CC in hits (66), slugging percentage (.637), total bases (93), runs scored (52) and stolen bases (47-47), and ranked second in batting average (.452) and on-base percentage (.497). 

Forry, a junior lefthander for the Bullets, was named Co-Pitcher of the Year to earn the conference's top pitching honor for the second year in a row. Forry is one of eight pitchers in Centennial history to win multiple Pitcher of the Year awards. The junior leads the conference with a 1.73 ERA and 102 strikeouts with a 13-5 overall record in 20 starts. Forry's 133.1 innings pitched is second in the CC, while her .217 opponents batting average ranks third. 

Barnhart, a senior righthander for the Shorewomen, also becomes a multi-time Pitcher of the Year, joining Forry as Co-Pitcher of the Year. Barnhart was previously named Pitcher of the Year as a freshman in 2021. Barnhart held a 3.25 ERA with eight wins, 60 strikeouts and a .259 opponents batting average through 19 starts and 110 innings. 

Mallen, a junior shortstop for Ursinus, was tabbed Gold Glove of the Year as the top defensive player in the conference, becoming the first Bear to win the award in its six-year history. Mallen was also named to the All-CC first team at the shortstop position. Mallen maintained a .948 fielding percentage with a conference-leading 104 assists against 10 errors throughout the year. 

Haverford freshman outfielder Martin received Rookie of the Year laurels, becoming the the second Ford to capture the accolade. Martin ranked ninth in the CC with a .358 batting average while also ranking 12th in slugging (.505), 13th in total bases (55), 15th in stolen bases (9), and 17th in on-base percentage (.407). 

The Washington College coaching staff was named Coaching Staff of the Year. Head coach Sally Snover and assistants Eric Widger and Fran Mazza led the Shorewomen to a 20-19-1 overall record including an 11-5 mark in CC play and the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament. 

A trio of players received all-conference honors for the third time in their careers - Washington College's Barnhart, Swarthmore's Olivia McClammy and Gettysburg's Allegra Decandia

McDaniel leads all teams with 65 All-Centennial first-team selections, followed by Gettysburg (61), Ursinus (60), Muhlenberg (43), Washington College (37), Dickinson (29), Haverford (28),  Franklin & Marshall (23) and Swarthmore (15).
