The Mira Costa and Redondo boys volleyball teams will continue their seasons this week in the CIF Southern California Regional playoffs.

Both teams lost in the CIF-Southern Section finals Saturday, but qualified for the regional playoffs.

Redondo (29-8) is the No. 2 seed in Division II and will face No. 7 Chatsworth in Tuesday’s opening round. The teams met in February at Redondo’s tournament with the Sea Hawks winning the best-of-3 match in two sets, 25-20, 25-12.

If Redondo wins, it would host the winner of the No. 3 Carlsbard-No. 6 Del Norte match.

Santa Margarita, which defeated Redondo in the CIF-SS Division 2 final, is the bracket’s top seed.

Mira Costa (35-4) is the No. 2 seed in Division I. The Mustangs, who lost to Loyola in CIF-SS Division 1 final, will host No. 7 Cathedral Catholic.

If Mira Costa wins, it would host the winner of the match between No. 3 Torrey Pines and No. 6 Newport Harbor.

Loyola is the No. 1 seed and opens at home against Edison.

The regional semifinals are Thursday and the finals are Saturday.
