Jurors in the Karen Read murder trial heard from friends of the victim today. They who were some of the last people to see him alive.

His girlfriend from Bristol County is accused of backing into him with her SUV.

Karen Read and John O'Keefe were captured on camera embracing on January 28 , 2022, at a Canton bar called C.F. McCarthy’s.

Friends who were also there, told the defense everything seemed fine.

"There didn’t seem to be any tension between them?" Alan Jackson asked

"Not that I recall," Michael Camerano, a friend of John O'Keefe replied.

"Did you see any evidence of any problems between Karen and John O’Keefe?" David Yannetti asked.

"I did not," Curt Roberts, a friend of John O'Keefe said.

Both men testified they left but Read and O'Keefe went to another bar, the Waterfall Bar & Grille to meet up with a group including members of the Albert and McCabe families.

"It seemed like they were quite lovey Dovey," Karina Kolokithas who was at Waterfall Bar & Grille said. "Everyone was having a great time," she added.

Witnesses said the group was invited to 34 Fairview Rd. in Canton.

Another video shows the couple leaving the bar and heading toward the car.

What happened next is for the jury to decide.

Friends of the couple said they were awakened by Read's frantic phone calls and learned O'Keefe hadn't come home.

"A voice on my wife’s phone was yelling," Roberts said.

"She was just screaming 'Where’s Mike. Where's Mike'?" Katherine Camerano, the wife of Michael Camerano said.

A text exchange between Read and Katherine Camerano happened shortly after O'Keefe was found in the snow in front of the house on Fairview Road.

"Any luck?" Camerano read in court.

"He’s dead," Read replied.
