Srikanth box office collection day 4: Rajkummar Rao film passes Monday test, outperforms Merry Christmas and Operation Valentine

Nonetheless, it still fared better than several other highly hyped films on their first Mondays, including Merry Christmas (Rs 1.65 crore), Operation Valentine (Rs 0.75 crore), Laapataa Ladies (Rs 0.5 crore), Do Aur Do Pyaar (Rs 0.25 crore) and Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2 (Rs 0.08 crore). The total India nett collection for “Srikanth” presently stands at Rs 13.45 crore.

On Monday, Srikanth achieved an overall occupancy rate of 11.57 per cent in the Hindi market. The morning shows began with a 7.26 per cent occupancy, which rose to 11.80 per cent during the afternoon, 12.77 per cent during the evening screenings and peaked at 14.46 per cent at night.

Based on the life of Srikanth Bolla, a visually-impaired industrialist and the founder of Bollant Industries, the film is penned by Jagdeep Siddhu and Sumit Purohit. Srikanth is Tushar Hiranandani’s third directorial project, following the biographical drama Saand Ki Aankh (2019), starring Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar, and the biographical financial thriller streaming series Scam 2003 (2023).

In her review of the movie, The Indian Express’ Shubhra Gupta wrote, “Rajkummar Rao is one of the few actors who is capable of fully inhabiting his role, and even more important, shed all vanity in the process.”
