Rajasthan Royals (RR) will be up against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in game 70 of IPL 2024 at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on Sunday, May 19. This will be the last match of the league stage. While KKR are confirmed of finishing at top of the points table irrespective of the result, RR would want to secure a berth in the top-two.
Rajasthan will clinch the second spot and a place in Qualifier 1 against Kolkata if they beat KKR on Sunday. A win against Shreyas Iyer and Co. will take them to 18 points. The maximum Sunrisers Hyderabad, the other contender for the No. 2 slot, can touch is 17 points.
It's easier said than done, though. Although they have qualified for the IPL 2024 playoffs, RR are on a four-match losing streak. In their previous clash, they went down to Punjab Kings by five wickets in Guwahati. Rajasthan could thus have their task cut out against a rampant Kolkata.

Kolkata Knight Riders have won the toss and have opted to bowl first in the seven-over game. Captain Shreyas Iyer said:
“It's a seven-over game. I have no idea how the wicket will play. The outfield is definitely wet.”
KKR have picked Anukul Roy for the shortened seven overs per side game. For RR, Nandre Burger might come in, said skipper Sanju Samson.
