What does my (mostly) anime physical collection say about me?

I was too lazy to rearrange my collection to remove the 3 non-anime films in the collection, but also I feel like it’s interesting as it helps inform my taste outside of just anime.

Also, I know the organization is fucked. I did it alphabetically, splitting up my 4K movies from my Blu-Ray, but Silent Voice is a steelbook, which didn’t fit with the Blu-Rays and Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya, which is a Blu-Ray, but in a DVD-sized case.

Haha, I went shopping for one and couldn't find tenki no ko (weathering with you) the other day, I ended up with three other shinkai films (your name., 5 centimetres ler second, and suzume's locking doors)

I haven't watched a silent voice, but I am reading the manga (vol.5/7 rn) and it is really dam good. I plan on watching it after I've finished the books

A Silent Voice is amazing. I love the movie (it’s actually my 2nd favorite movie) but it definitely does have the hallmarks of a 7-volume manga being compressed to a 2-hour movie. It remains laser-focused on the core Shoya/Shoko dynamic and remains strong because of that, but the rest of the supporting cast isn’t as strong as the manga. Miki and Toshi especially have very little to do.

That is a damn shame, I think the group dynamic and shoya growing into liking more people really helps the story *And the relatively deep exploration into that theme

That you have mostly average anime stuff seen in nearly all collections.

This says you love the calm and soothing old retro anime style found in ghibli movies, but that you also love the modern realistic animation style found in animes such as Violet and Your Name. You might be a 90s kid or very early 2000s who first saw the classics and then went on to modern stuff.
