British Short Listed Riders for the 2024 European Youth Championships

British Dressage has announced the short listed riders which are in the running for team selection for the 2024 European Youth Championships in Opglabbeek (BEL) and St. Margarethen (AUT) in July. 

Following results and progress throughout this year’s campaign, the British Dressage U21 Selectors released their updated short lists of riders in contention for team selection.

Children on Horses 

  • Ella-Grace Dovey from Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire with David Pincus' Sheepcote Jackson (chestnut gelding, 2013, Johnson x Don Primero).
  • Evie Head from Whitchurch, Shropshire with Rob and Nicola Lickley’s Gracia (black mare, 2011, Negro x Don Gregory, KWPN).

Teams and reserves are expected to be announced by Friday 21 June. 

Ponies

  • Daisy Bullman from Ely, Cambridgeshire with her own and Eleanor Darling and Andrew Constable’s Godrics Dionysus (bay stallion, 2016, Danger 36 x Donnerwetter).
  • Sofia Games from Cheltenham, Gloucestershire with Janet Oliver and Katie Oliver-Games’ Steendieks Cadillac (chestnut gelding, 2011, FS Chambertin, HOLST).
  • Abigail Gray from Banchory, Aberdeenshire with her own George Clooney B.S (grey gelding, 2011, Caesar 171 x Santano, KWPN).
  • Madi Haerr from Conwy, North Wales with her own Machno Excalibur (dark bay gelding, 2012, Rossgold Sunstar x Llansantffraed Seracen).
  • Violet Hawkins from Brackley, Northamptonshire with Jayne Turney’s Cruz (chestnut gelding, 2009, Caesar 171).
  • Evie Head from Whitchurch, Shropshire with Lauren Geraghty's WS Jackson (chestnut gelding, 2011, Chiskin Jaguar, AES). 
  • Darcey Blaze Marcus from Godalming, Surrey with Hiedi Marcus’s Tackmann’s Dark Deluxe (dun gelding, 2015, D-Day AT x Dornik B) and Heidi Marcus's Ella (grey mare, 2009, Caesar 171).

Juniors

  • Mette Dahl from Haywards Heath, West Sussex with Fiona Bigwood’s Fidelio Van Het Bloemenhof (chestnut gelding, 2009, Fidertanz x Jazz, BWP). 
  • Sofia Games from Cheltenham, Gloucestershire with Leslie Forlee’s Boccelli 6 (liver chestnut gelding, 2007, Belissimo M x Riccione, WESTF).
  • Myles Graham from Swindon, Wiltshire with Caroline Bell’s Nibeley Union Hit (dark bay mare, 2007, Nibeley Union Jack x Sandro Hit, AES) and Caron Roberts’ Nibeley Black Pearl (black mare, 2012, Nibeley Union Jack x Conto, AES).
  • Demi Howard-Cartwright from Ascot, Berkshire with Lorna Wilson's Newton Astro Nascente (chestnut gelding, 2016, Apache x Don Schufro, OLDBG).
