LOL I’m glad you can see I have a dark spirit; it at least means some level of personality is coming through via the internet You’ll be standing right next to Beyonce, and she’s STILL a dub. I don’t think she can be cancelled either, but thats only because she has real fans. Just like kanye. As long as people are there for her, she’ll be fine.

But, i do think her influence threatens people who cant completely control her. Its quite odd that in recent years any successful good black woman in music are not being promoted (which bey can afford to do on her own and is very profitable), being bastardized (they cant do that to bey), etc and when they reach a new height, they get a hate train ran against them for simply being great.

That’s where you lost me. I can acknowledge that Bey is a great performer; that’s where it begins and ends. She’s not even the best at what she does; especially since we haven’t allowed any other Black female artists to rise to a level of visibility similar to Beyoncé’s. Those feelings of being threatened are imagined. It’s why we haven’t taken the time to develop other artists, let them experiment with their sound/creativity before completely discarding them. We can critique all of the push/pull factors for why Beyonce and only Beyonce is being propelled to the top (it has nothing to do with talent).

Beyonce is being controlled like a robot toy by a team of about 25 different individuals. There’s nothing to feel threatened by.

Did you take a gander at the tweet in question? Those are all receipts compiled by MTO and posted 10 years ago. Beyonce has lifted choreo/cinematography and songs from other artists without acknowledging them or trying to strong-arm into giving her a credit. She has people who were strong-willed enough to proverbially split her wig in the legal process, but that hasn’t stopped her from lifting….yes even now in 2024.

When i say influence, i mean literally how her literal affect on a group of peoples behaviors. Her beyhive for instance. She can mobilize them and have them influence. Nicki mobilizes her barbs. That’s not even the worst part: Because she has no personality, she cannot even mobilize her fans to support her ventures outside of music (eventually, they’ll have to entertain another Black female act outside of Beyonce)….. I know she doesn’t want to do this forever when Robyn’s been able to segue away from music and live a successful life.

If you gave Cowboy Carter an honest listen during the initial spin, you’d understand why that album was such a struggle to get through and why I couldn’t even listen to it fully during a second attempt. If I’m honest, TTPD is the stronger of the two 2024 releases.

No cohesion, disjointed in a way that’s not artfully and cleverly done, but in a way that evokes frustration on the part of the listener. Too many unnecessary interludes (ripped from Solange’s ASATT), too many skips, not enough of a visceral connection to the lyrics because they feel empty and hollow like Beyoncé’s personality. Literally, my least favorite Rafael Saadiq production within the last 8 years.

Her fans are dry-begging for visuals because they NEED them in order for them to digest this album; I guess they feel it’s the only thing that will make this album palatable….and they’d be correct. Vague calls to action, empty references to ancestors and/or breaking of generational curses. Same Beyonce sh!t, different album.

I will say the opening melody of American Requiem is very Freddie Mercury-inspired and since I LOVE him, I love that part (but only that part, not the whole song).

Since its release, I went back to listen to Renaissance and Lemonade. Cowboy Carter is a$$.
