Capitol Hill Police HQ Cocaine Mystery Case: What We Know So Far

The United States Capitol Police (USCP) has launched an investigation following the discovery of a zip-lock bag containing a small amount of cocaine.
The bag was found at the USCP headquarters in Washington DC, in a hallway on the second floor, USCP said in a May 15 press release. This area, commonly used for staging furniture and supplies, sees heavy foot traffic from contractors and employees alike, the release noted. It is close to important offices such as Prisoner Processing, Crime Scene, Intel and Reports Processing.
The discovery was made just before 1:00 p.m. by an alert officer who spotted the one-inch by one-inch bag lying in the middle of the hallway floor and reported it to a supervisor. Field testing confirmed the substance as cocaine.
Amidst the ongoing investigations, the USCP Investigations Division conducting further testing, including DNA analysis of the bag, per the release. The USCP said that additional information would be released as the investigation progresses.
