Do not go on the boat trip.

This was our first stay at this hotel and after a bad start with our room we weren’t disappointed. We upgraded to the new junior premium suite which cost us an extra £400 for 2 weeks which has two bathrooms and is close to the beach and pools. We were given VIP wrist bands so our whole time was spent in the Amber restaurant and pool area. The entertainment staff were amazing and made our holiday especially Able. We loved the Amber and the staff were great special mention to Felix the egg man. Eggs cooked to perfection. Today we went on a catamaran boat trip we left at 0730am and did not return back until 1830pm. My husband was sold this has a VIP trip because the trip to Senosa island had been cancelled we are still waiting for the £166 refund for that trip. He was told this was a great trip. All I can say is this is the worst trip I have ever been on everything is an extra cost the tour guide was horrendous and only cared on how he could line his pockets by encouraging you to buy things and feed his face. You are told to tip the driver and not the boat staff but they will come round with a tip box expecting you to tip. After two and a half hours you get to the place where you get onto the boat you then travel out and get the opportunity to snorkel the boat staff were ok but the coral looks dead and there were hardly any fish to see. You then get back on the boat and travel to the island for 2 hrs and have a barbecue which is covered in flies. Hence to say we did not eat any of the cooked food and have a couple of cubes of watermelon. The trip back on the boat was ok and the coach full air conditioned was good. On the way back you stop mutiple times at the road side so people can get off the bus and then you are taking to gift shop when all I wanted to do was get back and have a shower. The whole experience was 1/10 definitely not VIP for £170 absolutely shocking. Bahia Principe this is a reflection of the trips that are sold in your hotel.

    terriable, would not recommend!

Upon arrival to this hotel they tried to get us to buy an upgrade to their renovated rooms. as we spent almost $8000 on this holiday already we just wanted to get settled and relax. Arrived on May 1, by May 3rd we had been moved into our third different room after much fuss and them not waiting to hear our concerns, we were not taking no for an answer, spoke to many supervisors who just kept "walking away from us" and not being helpful, hoping we would just go away. the first room they wanted to put us had one king bed in each room, there were four girls, we are not couples and said that is not acceptable (if it had been 4 men they never would of tried that). they then moved us to Villa 11, door was cracked and you could see light coming in, it was filthy, we went back to the front and told them we did not feel safe there. We were then moved to Villa 30 on Bavaro side, had guest services with us to inspect the room to see if it was ok. seemed ok but upon further inspection, there was dirty diapers in the garbage, shoes were left in the room and there seemed to be blood on the sheets, and I believe my friend was bitten bitten by some sort of bed bugs as she slept. our other friends were on the second floor and their toilet had some sort of leak and there was constately water on the floor. Went to speak with our Air Transit rep (we had asked for him the night before and were told they wouldn't give us his number.) he listened to our concerns, showed him photos and he said he would take care of it to come back to the front desk at 5r:30 and prepare to be moved. when we went back to the front desk they had no idea what we were talking about. after much discussion the "supervisor" went with us to get our bags and move us back to Villa 14, which is where we settled for the rest of the trip. they way we were treated was discusting. The only good things about this "resort" was the pretty grounds, variety of yummy foods and the cheery tram drivers. Stay away until they learn what good customer service is, they need alot of training. I would not recommend this resort to anyone.

    Unscrupulous Practice

The day of arrival. We weren't told. They didn't have any air conditioning. Also the lamp in our room was hanging about to fall near the bed. We reported this to Yehmi and nothing was fixed. Every time you ask for a manager. They say the person Andrea wasn't around. They also didn't understand English. So it was hard to communicate with the staff. Unfortunately, we still have days left at this facility. So now we have to suffer. After spending our hard working money on an unpleasant vacation. It would be nice. If they credit or provide some compensation. I will not be recommending this place to my friends.

Poor quality sun loungers but had an enjoyable stay

Took a couple of days to get my bearings as this hotel is one of 5 (or 6?) in this complex. This hotel lobby is nearly a kilometre from the beach but the good news is that they run frequent shuttle buses along the two “avenues” that run either side of the hotel grounds. I think this must have been the original hotel as the rooms looked a bit dated. Having said that I think they looked authentic, tiled, a very good size, huge bed and very clean, so no complaints. Wonderful powder sand beach. Disappointing for me were the loungers around the pools, poor quality and when you sat on them the headrest bit popped up, a real faff!

The buffet was excellent and the service by Lucy great. The Mikado and Rodizio restaurant was delicious. Good experience with the service at pool bar and snack bar. My friends and I enjoy de pool, shows and lobby bar. Room service was excellent.
