International PhD/Postdoc Fellows.

International PhD/Postdoc researchers from non-Dutch universities in the field of art history or related disciplines are invited to apply for our three-month fellowship program which consists of, among other benefits, free accommodation and a study workplace in our library.

The NIKI offers a limited number of fellowships for PhD or postdoc researchers who are affiliated with non-Dutch universities. These consist of up to €350.00 for travel expenses (€700.00 for candidates from non-European universities) and free accommodation at the Institute and a workplace in the library for the duration of up to three months and a minimum of six weeks. Residence at the institute is mandatory and travel expenses will be reimbursed on the basis of supporting documents.

Fellows are expected to devote their full time to the research project, to have no other obligations during the time of the fellowship and to present the results of their research at the end of their stay. to present the results of their research at the end of their stay.

A complete application consists of:

- CV
- a description of the research project, including its subject and purpose; the current status quaestionis; an explanation of what the research will contribute; the structure, phases and duration of the project; motivation why a stay in Florence is useful or necessary; the material that will be studied and the institutes that will be visited; the envisaged dates for the stay in Florence
- two letters of recommendation from doctoral art historians who are familiar with the work of the candidate, sent by referees in question
