In Shirdi, 18 members of a family from Kopargaon taluka cast their vote on Monday. Of the 18 members, 11 travelled from outside the district to exercise their democratic right.

Kisan Pawar (57) of Ghari village along the Sinnar-Shirdi highway has 22 members in his family, of which 19 members ensured they cast their ballot.
“Three of our family members are abroad, but the remaining travelled home to cast their vote. I feel extremely proud that everyone came to vote. It is only for the love of democracy,” Pawar said.
Ganesh Mahajan (38), a technical assistant in a Mumbai-based company, travelled all the way to Raver just for a day to cast his vote with his wife. “It is important to vote so that the candidate and the party of our choice get elected at the Centre. Coming home to exercise my franchise has always been my priority for the last 12 years since I shifted to Mumbai for employment,” he said.
Another Mumbai resident, Swapnil Sarode (34), said he came to Khadka in Bhusawal to cast his vote as he felt it was his duty and obligation towards the nation. “One should vote when one has faith in the candidate contesting the polls,” Sarode said.
