Hi all - have just got the engine management light on - error is the camshaft sensor - I have bought a replacement but cannot find it or a video showing me where it is on my car! Any ideas please?
Thank you
Hi - I put my number plate on the website I bought the part from - car is still running just losing a bit of power on acceleration at times - everything else seems ok
Without knowing exactly which engine, I guessing it's the puretech PF1 engine.
The cam position sensors are arrowed (both of them) and circled in the diagram.
On most engines you can find the cam position sensor(s) at the front of the engine, up by the cam shaft sproket - because this is where the signal is generated. So this is always a good place to start looking for it (them).
So my very talented other half found the sensor, the replacement part was £35 on ebay, it took him 15 mins to swap the part and now error free! So relieved and a relatively quick fix
