– A woman is on a mission to bring awareness to a road in Sans Souci that she called dangerous after being involved in a crash where she lost her cat.Kristin Osborne’s windshield came out when a car hit her from the side.“It’s very dangerous. I would say it’s very dangerous here...besides the frequent running of the stop sign, high speeds. People going on average 50 mph,” Osborne said.
A few people who frequent the area said speeding and crashes are an issue at the street and intersection. “This road is a cut-through between University and you can save a lot of stoplights if you kind of cut through this neighborhood. So people fly through, they run the stop sign,” Kellyn Kelemen ofThe two have stayed in touch because Kelemen works with a cat rescue.A woman's car ran away after she was involved in a crash on a"dangerous" intersectionSurveillance video shows the moments her cat, Spooky, who she loves dearly, runs out of the car.
“It’s been so sad. I’m like so traumatized by the whole experience plays in my head over and over again. A bunch of what-ifs, like ‘What if I could’ve just reached him?’” Osborne said. They’ve also set up trail cams near the traps to monitor what happens, but no luck. Osborne said she wants to make sure no one gets in a crash on this road again or ever loses their cat the way she did.“I know for sure that speed bumps are necessary...I feel like it’s scary because I was able to walk away mostly from a situation but my wreck was kind of severe it was a serious car wreck and I didn’t have any kids in the car so what’s to say the next person won’t, there might be a loss of life instead of just a lost cat,” Osborne said.
