Alexis Mac Allister does not plan to leave Liverpool amid Real Madrid links

Alexis Mac Allister seems to be happy at Liverpool and has no intention of leaving amid recent links with a move to Real Madrid.

According to Football Insider, Alexis Mac Allister will not push for a move away from Liverpool amid recent transfer links. The Argentine mainstay has no interest in leaving the club as things stand, as Real Madrid saw recent links with a move.

Alexis Mac Allister to stay at Liverpool

Alexis Mac Allister is considered one of the top summer singers after a terrific first season with Liverpool. He made 46 appearances for the club, winning the League Cup, but could not help the club carry on with its title challenge with the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City.

Liverpool signed Mac Allister for an initial fee of £35 million from Brighton last summer, and for that price, he was seen as one of the shrewdest pieces of business. The 25-year-old signed a contract until 2028 and is naturally seen as a long-term option, quite possibly by incoming boss Arne Slot.

However, Liverpool fans had some concerns as a release clause worth £60 million was revealed in Mac Allister’s contract. That’s a modest fee considering how important the Argentine mainstay is for the club and its future.

Real Madrid were linked with a move, but as per the report, Mac Allister appears happy at Liverpool and will not push for a move. However, the chance to play at the Santiago Bernabeu might entice any player in the world, and that might be the case with Mac Allister as well. While he seems to have committed his future at Anfield, should an interested club trigger that £60 million clause, there’s barely anything Liverpool can do.

Liverpool’s summer plans

For starters, Liverpool will want to keep Mac Allister and probably look to build their future midfield around the Argentine star. However, Klopp has also brought in others as a long-term option, including Dominik Szoboszlai, Harvey Elliott, and Ryan Gravenberch.

The new boss, Arne Slot, will want to keep hold of many of those names, and he could also look to build his team around Trent Alexander-Arnold. There could be a few outgoings of experienced stars like Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah, while others like Thiago Alcantara and Joel Matip are already out of the club.
