Manchester City lifted their fourth consecutive Premier League title on Sunday, becoming the first team in the league's history to do so after a 3-1 win against West Ham United.

The champions entered the final day of the season in need of a win because of the two-point lead over Arsenal, and so they got off to a strong start with Phil Foden's brace in the first 18 minutes. Mohammed Kudus got one back for West Ham just before halftime but Rodri's second-half goal sealed the deal for Pep Guardiola's side.

Arsenal finished in second place, two points behind City after a surprise come-from-behind victory over Everton. Idrissa Gueye scored first for the Toffees in the 40th minute before Takehiro Tomiyasu equalized just three minutes later. The Gunners failed to capitalize on several opportunities in the second half before Kai Havertz scored the game-winner in the 90th minute.

A fourth straight title win continues City's era of dominance in the Premier League, winning six out of the last seven titles and maintaining their constant position as the favorites to do so year in and year out.

The Emirates still believes

Ten or so minutes ago this felt done enough that I could make a start on the column. North London had already been quelled by news of that Foden brace and then Gueye's free kick took a wicked deflection off Rice. Even more fans were heading for the bar. In an instant, however, we got that true title race drama. News began to filter through of Kudus' stunner just as Tomiyasu drew Arsenal square. Suddenly word filtered around (erroneously) that West Ham had got another. Even when that was quashed the buzz built back stronger. The brass band is making an almighty racket. Arsenal still believe.

We've got a wild one at Luton

Two stoppage time goals as Carlton Morris nets a penalty and Raul Jimenez answered right back as Harry Wilson grabs his second assist of the game. Quite some finish but this is what the final day of the season is all about.

Arsenal equalize

43' Just three minutes after going down, Arsenal are back on level terms thanks to a goal from Tomiyasu. It'll take more for the Gunners to take top spot, but it's a deserved goal for the team that has been in charge of the match so far.

Everton take the lead

40' Arsenal may be the favorites to win at home, but Gueye's expertly taken freekick lands in the back of the net and gives Everton a 1-0 lead. The Gunners were already out of luck in the title race with City's win, but this makes a bad day worse for them.

The Emirates is quelled

Remember what I said earlier about nothing really stopping the party in north London. It seems I might have expected more than this atmosphere delivered. You can't really get much of a buzz going when City score one within 116 seconds. Word is just trickling in about the second. Everyone in the crowd seems to know the jig is up. A goal might at least bring back the carnival atmosphere but for now Jordan Pickford is not minded to give out freebies.
