Country musician Nate Smith made an impactful start at the ACM Awards with an early victory as the new male artist of the year, setting the tone for a night of musical celebration. Adding to the excitement, Smith dazzled the audience with the live debut performance of his latest collaboration, ‘Bulletproof’, featuring the iconic pop-punk artist Avril Lavigne.

The performance unfolded with Smith taking the stage solo, creating a captivating ambience reminiscent of a vibrant bar scene with neon lights adorning the background. Lavigne later joined him, adding her signature flair and vocals to the second verse before seamlessly transitioning into a duet with Smith for the remainder of the song.

‘Bulletproof’ initially featured on Smith’s ‘Through the Smoke EP,’ received a fresh twist with the collaborative effort between the two musicians, leading to the release of a new duet version just ahead of the ACM Awards. 

Lavigne, sporting a stylish ensemble of a ripped black sweatshirt paired with flare jeans, exuded her trademark rock-inspired aesthetic, while Smith opted for a sleek all-black look complemented by a leather jacket, adding to the musical synergy between the duo.

The electrifying performance came on the heels of Smith’s early win at the ACM Awards, setting a high note for the evening’s festivities hosted by the legendary Reba McEntire.
