Bronny James Reveals 3 NBA Players He Wants To Be Like–LeBron James Isn’t One Of Them
David Banks-USA TODAY Sports

After being hyped by Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James for so many years, there’s a real possibility Bronny James is going to make his NBA debut next season. For the young star, though, he wants to emulate three stars in the league for his professional career and his father isn’t one of them.

A few years ago, the older James revealed that he plans to spend the final year of his career playing with Bronny, his eldest son. Since then, the media has kept a close eye on his development throughout high school and college.

Bronny’s four-year run in Sierra Canyon saw him progress into a capable defender with a potential to be a scorer down the line. Unfortunately, that kind of success didn’t replicate in the one year he played for USC. In the 25 PAC-12 games he played, the younger James only averaged 4.8 points on 26 percent shooting from deep, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists. His NCAA run wasn’t great too with averages of 4.8 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 2.5 assists.

After his lone year in USC, James decided to enter the transfer portal to play for another university. At the same time, he recently participated in the NBA Draft Combine and performed well there. However, it’s not yet known whether he’ll declare for the actual draft or not.

After participating in the combine, Bronny faced reporters and answered questions from them. In a post shared by Dan Woike on X, the young star revealed the three players he wants to be like:

“Bronny says current players like Derrick White, Jrue Holiday and Davion Mitchell as NBA players he thinks affect winning in the ways he wants to as a pro,” Woike tweeted.

The three players are known to be high-impact performers on the defensive end of the court. Excluding Mitchell, the other two also boast a respectable offensive game throughout their respective careers. Surprisingly, Bronny didn’t mention his father since the league’s all-time leading scorer has a different style.

It remains to be seen how Bronny will develop into the players he mentioned. In any case, a lot of eyes will be on him if he decides to declare for the draft since Lebron will most likely be with him.
