‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ Fans, We’ve Got Some Bad News About Season 3

Summer 2024 is going to be one without Belly, Conrad and Jeremiah.

During Amazon’s Upfront event on Tuesday, which was attended by writer Jenny Han, Lola Tung, Gavin Casaelgno and Christopher Briney, it was revealed that the highly-anticipated third installment of the series is being delayed, with an expected release next year in 2025.

While that isn’t ideal for everyone waiting to see how this love triangle pans out (you should probably just read the book, if you haven’t, at this point), there is some good news on the horizon.

Minimal details about what to expect have been revealed, however, to make up for the long hiatus—season 2 aired its last episode in August 2023 making this a two-year gap—the third installment will come with an expanded episode count: 11 episodes instead of the previous 7 and 8 in season’s 1 and 2, respectively.

And as an extra little something-something for fans, the official TSITP X account shared a video of the cast playing beach volleyball with the caption, “see you in Cousins in 2025.”

And even better—the series has already begun filming, which means that while there’s a wait, there’s also momentum and excitement.

As for those who have read the book series—avert your eyes if you haven’t—it’s unclear if the 11 episodes will span the entire third book, We’ll Always Have Summer, which finds Belly making a choice between the brothers—or if it will divert from what’s already been established to something more fitting for television (and maybe even appeases the fandoms a bit more?).

I guess we’ll just have to wait and see!

‘Abbott Elementary’s Season 3 Promo Goes Viral With Jeremy Allen White Joke

'Abbott Elementary's Season 3 Promo Goes Viral With Jeremy Allen White Joke

Imagine a world in which Abbott Elementary and The Bear exist in each other’s orbit.

The former almost made it happen with its brand new promo for the upcoming third season went viral following a joke about Jeremy Allen White.

In the snippet, Ava (Janelle James) calls Gregory (Tyler James Williams) “Jeremy Allen Black” after he whips out his muscular arms to try to convince her to loosen up on the new rules she’s introduced after spending the summer at Harvard.

Someone said that the scene alone deserves an Emmy, adding, “writers are writing.”

That Jeremy Allen Black joke at the end. Yeah another banger semester incoming,” someone else quipped, as another added, “give quinta the emmy, pulitzer, all of them!”

Plenty more memes piled in on X (or what we all still call Twitter):

“so if in the abbott universe jeremy allen white exists does that mean that ayo edebiri also exists and if so how does ayesha fit into this equation,” someone else questioned referring to Janine’s (Quinta Brunson) sister Ayesha (Ayo Edebiri)—and we have to admit, they have a point.

“Ok so if Jeremy Allen White is in this universe does that mean Ayo Edebiri is? And does Quinta think her sister looks like her?” another user pointed out.

And if the joke was somehow lost on you, don’t worry, we got you—it’s a play on Jeremy’s recent viral (and steamy) Calvin Klein underwear ad that he people talking, retweeting, resharing, and gawking.

The actor, who is also known as Lip from Shameless, nearly broke the internet by flaunting his muscular physique—arms and all.

Abbott Elementary’s new promo promises plenty of laughs right from the start on Feb. 7, as Janine considers adding vulgar language to her vocabulary (stopping Gregory in his tracks) and Gregory and Janine swear that things aren’t odd between them despite their near-romance last season, to which everyone’s favorite janitor Mr. Johnson (William Stanford Davis) simply replies, “interesting,” totally unconvinced.

Oh man, it’s great to have television back again!

Luke Mitchell Joins ‘Chicago Med’ for Season 9

Luke Mitchell Joining 'Chicago Med' for Season 9

Let’s all give a warm welcome to a new doctor coming to Gaffney!

Chicago Med is adding Luke Mitchell to the cast, according to Deadline.

The Originals and Blindspot actor will reportedly appear as a character named Dr. Mitch Ripley, described as an “early thirtysomething male Emergency Department doctor” with a past connection to Dr. Charles, played by Oliver Platt.

Word on the street is Ripley has a “troubled background,” which is why he crossed paths with Charles back in the day… and it seems like it might lead to some friction for the two.

He will recur on the medical drama with the potential of being upgraded to a series-regular come season 10, likely pending the reaction from fans.

The former Big Sky star is set to make his debut in the premiere episode of season 9 airing on January 17

Of course, his addition is necessary as Chicago Med said goodbye to a handful of major cast members over the course of the previous seasons, including Brain Tee who played Ethan Choi, Nick Gehlfuss who starred as Will Halstead, Guy Lockard as Dr. Dylan Scott and Asjha Cooper in the role of Vanessa Taylor.

As of now, the returning cast includes S. Epatha Merkerson (hospital head Sharon Goodwin), Marlyne Barrett (charge nurse Maggie Lockwood), Dominic Rains (Dr. Crockett Marcel), Steven Weber (Dr. Dean Archer) and Jessy Schram (Dr. Hannah Asher).

Season 9 will consist of a 13-episode season, shortened due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.
