Chuck Lorre video interview

If there is anyone who could rightly ascend to the throne of the “King of Television Comedy” it undoubtedly is Chuck Lorre. With credits over the last quarter-century including Two and a Half Men, The Big Bang Theory, Mom, Dharma & Greg, Mike & Molly, Grace Under Fire, Cybill and many more, Lorre has produced one major hit after another.

This season alone he says goodbye to two moreYoung Sheldon and Bob ❤️ Abishola — but never fear, there seemingly always is another network comedy around the corner, and it was just announced Georgie and Mandy’s First Marriage, a spinoff of Young Sheldon, has been picked up to series by CBS for next season. The seven-season hit Young Sheldon ends its run on Thursday with the second of a two-part finale that Lorre told me he is so proud of.

Set in the world of sports gambling and bookies, Sebastian Maniscalco stars in a hilarious yet pungent series that knows no boundaries, unlike what Lorre might get on one of his broadcast network shows. There is much to say about it, as well as all of Lorre’s remarkable work. But we begin with his biggest hit ever, and why CBS initially told him “no way” and passed.
