Lisa Ann Walter warned Lindsay Lohan's mom not to let her move to L.A. at 15

"I think her coming out to L.A., Lindsay, on her own, was sort of what was dangerous," Walter told Andy Cohen.

Long before Abbott Elementary, Lisa Ann Walter played Chessy the housekeeper in The Parent Trap alongside soon-to-be-star Lindsay Lohan. In a new interview, Walter says she warned Lohan's mother, Dina, not to let her daughter move to Los Angeles.

Appearing on SiriusXM's Radio Andy with Andy Cohen, Walter reminisced about the beloved 1998 movie. "I think her coming out to L.A., Lindsay, on her own was sort of what was dangerous," Walter said.

"I remember I said to Dina once, I was like, 'You can't let her come out here. She needs supervision. I'll watch her. Send her to me. I'll put her in a bedroom with the other kids.'"

While the timing of that conversation is hazy, Walter stayed in touch with the family after The Parent Trap. "I used to stay on the phone with them pretty regularly and talk to her mom out in Long Island," she said. "You know, the family was going through struggles, and she was such, Lindsay, an involved big sister that, with all the family stuff that was going on, she felt very responsible for it. It was a lot."

Lohan ultimately moved to Los Angeles, and her private life from that time is well-documented, as it wasn't all that private.

"In L.A. I didn’t know what to do, apart from go out every night," she told the Observer in 2014. "That’s when my friends were free. And I would go out, and there would be all these cameras there, and that’s when it became difficult."

Walter wasn't surprised that Lohan became a star after The Parent Trap. "That movie was wildly successful and not just in the States, all over the world. So, she was immediately sucked into the vortex of Disney and her mom," Walter said, before adding that she's happy Lohan is having a "resurgence" after starring in movies like Irish Wish and Falling for Christmas, the planned Freaky Friday sequel, and a Netflix Christmas film, Our Little Secret, which is scheduled to be released later this year.
