Only three coaches have ever taken Borussia Dortmund to the Champions League final.
Yesterday, Borussia Dortmund secured their third ticket to the Champions League final, set to be played at London's Wembley Stadium! Coach Edin Terzić guided the team to the last match in this elite competition, joining the two giants who previously led the yellow and black to the grand finale.
The last Dortmund coach before Terzić to reach the final was in 2013, also at Wembley, and that was none other than Jurgen Klopp. That final was won by Bayern!
The first coach of Borussia Dortmund to reach the Champions League final was the legendary Ottmar Hitzfeld. It was an impressive victory for Dortmund, who defeated Juventus 3-1 in the final held in Munich. At that time, Juventus boasted stars like Del Piero, Zidane, Deschamps, Jugović, Bokšić, and Vieri, under the management of Marcello Lippi.
