EXCLUSIVE: Akshay Oberoi on Inside Edge season 4, “It’s not like the door is closed” 4 : Bollywood News

Amazon Prime Video’s Inside Edge has seen three successful seasons so far. Produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment and created by Karan Anshuman, the show mainly stars Vivek Oberoi, Tanuj Virwani, Richa Chadha, Angad Bedi and Amit Sial. The third season saw Akshay Oberoi entering the show in a pivotal role of the captain of the Indian Cricket team Rohit Shanbagh.

The first two seasons of the show revolved around franchise cricket and the third one explored test cricket through an India vs Pakistan series. The show is about the dirty games played in cricket off the field. The third season ended by hinting a possibility of season 4.

In an exclusive chat with Bollywood Hungama, when Akshay Oberoi was asked about the next season of Inside Edge, he said, “Good question. I also keep asking Karan Anshuman on what’s happening with it. We had everything, but sometimes things just don’t, kind of, work out. Of course, the show is very well liked. It did very well. But there are certain things beyond that I can understand as to why things don’t take off or do take off. I still hope. It’s not like the door is closed. I still hope something happens here. That would be fantastic. But as of now, there is no news on what we are doing there.”

Speaking about his upcoming projects, Akshay shared, “Illegal 3 is coming up at the end of this month. I am very excited about it as that show already has an audience base. I think we have made then wait long enough before giving this third season. I am also excited about a film I did with Ratnaa Sinha called Tu Chahiye. She had made Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana.”
