Night on Earth with Sean Fennessey

Podcast

Just discovered ‘Podcast Like It's 1992’ and saw that Sean is a guest on their latest episode, discussing Jim Jarmusch’s Night on Earth (a film I definitely recommend). Thought I’d share!

“We talk about where Night on Earth stands along Jim Jarmusch's career path, and how this gem fell through the cracks.”

I love Jarmusch but I can never get through the first ride.

The second ride (the NYC one with Giancarlo Esposito) is so damn funny. Easily the best of the 5 imo

She's fine. I just can't get into the story.

I think I'm an outlier on this, but Night on Earth is my favorite Jarmusch. Looking forward to this pod.

I first saw Night on Earth on public tv without any ads or interruptions. It was just on one night. I was blown away. You can do this? Just put five disconnected pieces together with hardly any story and call it a feature film? I’ll listen to the pod, thanks.

I might give it a listen later on, I rewatched this movie a while back. I do like it, but it's a hard movie to assess because there is nothing I can work out that ties it all together besides the fact that it's all based on taxi drivers at night in various locations
