In the municipality of Calima-Darién, Valle del Cauca, two police patrol cars were arrested and sent to jail, and they are being investigated by the police for a series of alleged irregularities that occurred during the inspection of a vehicle.

According to what was stated by the investigating entity, Yeferson Smith Rodríguez Vargas and Luis Arnulfo Parrado Pérez, would have used their positions to seize a car that was stopped on a public road, from which they would have stolen $10 million, in addition to a weapon. of fire.

The two subjects took the driver of the vehicle to the police station in the municipality of Calima-Darién and after appropriating the unreported money and weapon, they reportedly demanded one million pesos from the person in order not to prosecute him.

The authorities indicated that among the evidence against the uniformed officers it would also have been identified that they made a false report in which they modified the conditions in which the firearm was found. The subjects, who were captured by the Technical Investigation Corps (CTI) and members of the Army in Buga and Dagua (Valle del Cauca).

The Prosecutor’s Office charged them with the crimes of concussion, malfeasance by omission, qualified theft and ideological falsification in a public document. A guarantee control judge legalized the capture and ordered a prison security measure, while the process progresses. None of those involved accepted the charges.
