went grocery hunting for soup ingredients
going to make chicken soup today with carrots, bok choy, and nappa cabbage
next week I think I want chicken butternut squash soup

very earthy flavor in a refreshing way. felt nice on my stomach :3

rough recipe/directions below


Broth is half bone broth, half water. Added in some miso too. 1 Seasoned the chicken with salt, Italian seasoning, and turmeric. 2 Peeled and coined the carrots. I put the shredded nappa cabbage and baby bok choy on top (so like not really in the liquid yet) and started the slow cooker on low. After two hours I mixed the cabbages into the broth. After 4 hours I shredded the chicken and switched it over to warm while I ran and errand. Cooked some rice noodles on the side to throw into my bowl.


  1. I had this "miso & easy" stuff she got me which I am not really sure if it is actually miso paste or not?? like as in I don't think you get any benefits of the fermentation from this, but I could be totally wrong. I just put like a small spoonful right into the pot towards the end, but you should probably mix up just a little in each individual bowl when serving.

  2. Normally I would also add some pepper, garlic, and onion, but with my recent gastritis diagnosis I am being advised to kinda limit those for a bit while my stomach is healing.
