Finished Ed's book last week. Very fun but made me hungry! Here's some of my favourite lines out of context! And a bit of the greedy boy being more sincere, because he's better than he thinks he is about talking about this stuff : r/offmenupodcast Skip to main content

Thanks for sharing this! I’ve been trying to decide whether to read the book or not (only because I don’t always enjoy non-fiction) but this has convinced me to get it!

I also struggle with memoirs/non-fiction and read it as an audiobook which I loved! Ed reads it himself so it’s like a long podcast (yes no James, but still great)

ETA; if you have Spotify premium you get a free audiobook a month! That’s how I listened

No James, but 45 minutes of bonus Nish!

I was already interested, but the 45 minutes of bonus Nish doubled my enthusiasm to get the audio book

It's great. I would've happily listened to them two talk for the whole 7 hours haha. Can't wait for the wedding!

Thanks for the Spotify reminder! I just checked and it looks like it's included with Spotify Premium now.

No problem!

Some bits probably hit me harder cause my little brother got diagnosed t1 last year and it's been pretty rough at times. But it is a very enjoyable read, definitely can hear Ed's voice throughout! Seen the odd comment that it is "a little childish" at points but I mean what were they expecting haha, and like I said, he does talk about the more serious stuff too, just in a very Gamble-y way.

I hope they do the wedding on the pod.

Highly recommend in any format. One of the funniest food books - reminds me of Calvin Trillin.

I often wonder if the boys have read Calvin Trillin. If they haven’t, they should.

Really enjoyed the audiobook!

My OH is a t1 diabetic foodie with a difficult parental situation. Not massively into Ed but enjoys him on GBM. I think I’m gonna pick up this book for our holiday I can read it after.

Does he ever mention Greg Davies at all? Like when they were on tour together? They have funny food memories on Off Menu.

No I imagine that could be a whole other book in itself if him and Greg ever feel like it haha. He doesn't really namedrop other comedians as a lot of it's focused on childhood/uni. James gets a few mentions and then there's a chapter dedicated to romance so Nish is of course the main character in that.
