In a surprising turn of events, Barron Trump, the youngest son of former President Donald Trump, has declined to serve as a delegate at the Republican National Convention, despite earlier reports suggesting his debut in the public political arena.

However, the Trump family's presence will still be strongly felt at the convention, with five other members confirmed to attend and cast votes for the presumptive Republican presidential nominee.

Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, both executive vice presidents of the Trump Organization, have been selected by the Republican Party of Florida as statewide "at-large" delegates. Delegates are chosen either on a statewide basis or according to congressional districts. Kimberly Guilfoyle, Trump Jr.'s fiancée, and Tiffany Trump, the former President's daughter with ex-wife Marla Maples, have also been chosen as members of the Florida delegation. Tiffany Trump's husband, Michael Boulos, will also be part of the delegation.

Barron Trump and Tiffany Trump have generally maintained a low public profile, even as their father faces multiple legal challenges in New York, Atlanta, South Florida, and Washington, D.C. The Trump family has largely relocated to Florida in recent years, with the former President's Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach now serving as his primary residence after decades in Trump Tower, Manhattan.

Upon relocating in 2019, Trump expressed his enduring affection for New York, but criticized the city and state's political leaders for treating him "very badly." He tweeted, "Few have been treated worse," despite his contributions of millions of dollars in city, state, and municipal taxes over the years.

According to the Trump Organization's website, Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr. are currently based in Jupiter, Florida, a few towns north of Mar-a-Lago.

The former president has comfortably surpassed the 1,215-delegate threshold to become the Republican Party's presumptive nominee, with a total of 2,037 delegates as of Friday.

Former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, who suspended her presidential campaign on March 6, won approximately one-sixth of the votes in Pennsylvania's closed primary contest on April 23 and retains a total of 97 delegates. Other candidates who earned delegates before suspending their campaigns include Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, with nine delegates, and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, with three.

Evan Power, chairman of the Republican Party of Florida, expressed his confidence in the Florida delegation to the 2024 Republican National Convention in a statement to Fox News Digital. "The RPOF is ready for a great convention in Milwaukee, but more importantly, we are excited as we continue to lay the groundwork in Florida for success," Power said. "Mark my words, we are going to win, and we will win big in November."

Eric Trump will serve as the chairman of the Sunshine State delegation, and Guilfoyle will be one of two commissioners on its platform committee.
