IU and Kang Han Na, who were co-stars in the highly acclaimed 2016 K-drama Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo, recently reunited a few days before IU's birthday. The duo posted pictures on Instagram surprising fans with their reunion. The co-stars share a great friendship even years after the drama's airing.

South Korean singer-songwriter and actor IU took on the lead role in the popular drama Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo, which aired in 2016. Kang Han Na, South Korean actress also played a prominent role in the historical drama as one of the main characters. Their on-screen chemistry blossomed into a beautiful bond during filming which is present even now, years after the airing of the series. Recently, the pair appeared to have reunited to celebrate IU's forthcoming birthday.

Kang Han Na And IU's Reunion

On May 12, IU surprised fans by sharing glimpses of her hangout session wit Kang Han Na on Instagram. The singer-songwriter posted several pictures including some with her guitar and a selfie with her Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo co-star.

Along with the posts she penned the caption, "Princess Yeonhwa (Kang Han Na’s character in Scarlet Heart Ryeo) treated me to a very delicious meal. I received gifts and letters too. I wish every day was like May."

Kang Han Na left a heartfelt comment on her post saying "Happy birthday to Haesoo". For reference Haesoo was the name of character IU played in the drama.

It seemed like IU had an enjoyable time with her close friend Kang Han Na on May 16, coinciding with her own 31st birthday celebrations.
