Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal offered prayers at the Hanuman temple in central Delhi’s Connaught Place. He was accompanied by his wife Sunita and Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann. AAP leaders, including Delhi Health Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj and education minister Atishi were also present.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor walked out of the Tihar jail where he was lodged in connection with Delhi excise policy case, hours after being granted interim bail by the Supreme Court.
After being released, addressing the crowd, he had said that he will pay his obeisance to Lord Hanuman on Saturday and seek his blessings.
He also sought people’s support in his “fight against dictatorship”.
Kejriwal will address a press conference at AAP office at 1 pm and will hold two roadshows in south Delhi and east Delhi parliamentary constituencies today, along with Mann. This will be Kejriwal’s first roadshow after walking out of Tihar Jail.
The chief minister reached his residence in the Civil Lines area around 8.20 pm from the prison complex. “There is a roadshow in South Delhi. I will participate in the roadshow with Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann,” he told reporters while standing through the sunroof of his vehicle.
AAP has fielded Sahi Ram Pahalwan from the South Delhi parliamentary constituency. Under a seat-sharing arrangement between the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), the former has fielded candidates from three Lok Sabha seats in Delhi while the latter is contesting from the remaining four.
