Here's a treat for folks planning to take a break during the upcoming school holiday: A promotion from Batik Air that features "guaranteed fixed fares" on its "Super Saver" deals.

What this means is that passengers would only need to pay the amount as advertised (save for a few additional sen due to taxes), provided you book your flights at least 48 hours prior to travel time.

Under the Super Saver price category, one-way flights from Kuala Lumpur to Johor and Penang are at RM129; to Langkawi (Kedah) and Kota Bharu (Kelantan) RM149; to Kuching and Sibu in Sarawak RM279; and to Kota Kinabalu and Tawau in Sabah RM339.

These routes will fly from either the KL International Airport Terminal 1 or Subang Skypark Terminal in Selangor.

The Fares Guaranteed promotion is valid for all Batik Air's domestic routes, and booking is open from now right up to May 31. The travel period for this promotion is from now until Nov 30, so you can also plan your trip to coincide with the seasonal and public holidays.

In a statement, Batik Air said that the promotion is part of its initiative to boost domestic tourism in Malaysia. "This is a testament to the strong demand for tourism across Malaysia, and we are thrilled to fly our guests to their preferred destinations with guaranteed fixed fares," said Batik Air chief executive officer, Datuk Chandran Rama Muthy.

Earlier, the airline announced that it has extended its "Economy Fares Family" deal to include selected international routes, and also introduced a "zero check-in baggage" option to passengers flying on the Super Saver deal.
