Are you aware of your oneness with God?

Jesus went to a lonely place to pray, that is, to grow in the awareness that all the power he had was given to him; that all the words he spoke came from his Father; and that all the works he did were not really his but the works of the One who had sent him.

– Henri Nouwen

Awareness is the key. We want to become aware, I believe, of our oneness with God, with infinite intelligence. The more aware we become, the more it’s reflected in our results. A lack of awareness is also reflected in our results.

– Bob Proctor

Both of the above quotes essentially say the same thing.

I read the Henri Nouwen one as part of a daily email meditation I receive from the Henri  Nouwen Society.

The second one is pulled from Bob Proctor’s book, Change Your Paradigm, Change Your Life.

This is at least my fourth or fifth run through this powerful book. (Click here to purchase.)

I love to read books multiple times because I can mine for nuggets missed the first time or reinforce and build upon existing information that continues to help me.

My preference is kindle because I can highlight what I find valuable.

I can even take notes directly in the kindle.

Now back to both of these quotes.

When we are aware of our oneness with God, amazing things begin to happen.

We seem to get in the flow.

Life seems effortless.

We flow with the current, not battle upstream against the current to get through the day.

Our actions are infused with and motivated by the Spirit.

This means we partner with God as we move through the day.

We are never alone.

When we get stuck or frustrated, we pause and wait.

We reconnect to God and remember to become aware of our oneness with infinite intelligence.

Centering prayer is vital to this process for me.

That is why I practice it twice per day.

Centering prayer reminds me of my oneness with God.

My outer actions become the works of the One who has sent me as Henri Nouwen says.

Are you aware of your oneness with God?

How do you remain connected and one with God?

Weekly Tip: The Power of Intention. Here is a powerful practice. Before you go to bed, jot down 1-3 things you will complete tomorrow. Here are three personal examples: edit one chapter in my new book draft, complete important task at work, and call my mother. Next I go to bed. When I awake, I read them and make certain to do each one. If you do this 5 days per week, that is 5-15 things accomplished per week! You will be amazed at your progress as you look back in one month, six months, and one year. Reach out here
