Los Angeles Chargers 2024 Schedule Announced

LAC Schedule 16x9

The National Football League unveiled its complete schedule for the 2024 season on Wednesday, with the Los Angeles Chargers hosting Kickoff Weekend at SoFi Stadium on Sunday, Sept. 8 against the Las Vegas Raiders. The Bolts are currently slated for a pair of games on ESPN's Monday Night Football on Oct. 21 at Arizona and Nov. 25 vs. Baltimore, a December 8 tilt at Kansas City on NBC's Sunday Night Football and will go without a Thursday game for the first time since the 2009 season. Los Angeles also closes the season against the Raiders in Las Vegas, the sixth time in seven years that the Bolts go on the road for the season finale. The 2024 season marks the third time ever that the Chargers will face the same team in the season opener and finale, most recently having opened and closed with Kansas City in 2016.

In conjunction with the official release of the 2024 schedule, the Chargers will place select single-game tickets on sale to the general public beginning at 7:00 p.m. PT at chargers.com/tickets.

With a record of 36-28 (.563) in season openers, the Chargers will face the Raiders on Kickoff Weekend for the 10th time overall but just the second at home. Los Angeles has won its last four season openers against the Raiders, most recently a 24-19 victory at SoFi Stadium to open the 2022 season. In that game, quarterback Justin Herbert threw for three touchdowns while the Chargers defense picked off three passes and totaled six sacks, including three from outside linebacker Khalil Mack.

The Bolts then have back-to-back games on the East Coast in Weeks 2 and 3. Los Angeles first heads to Carolina, playing at Bank of America Stadium for just the fourth time in history. The Chargers then head to Pittsburgh, having won three of the last five matchups in the series. Most recently, the Bolts mounted a 41-37 come-from-behind victory over the Steelers on Sunday Night Football in 2021 behind a Justin Herbert performance that made him the first player in NFL history to throw for 350 yards and run for 90 yards in the same game.

Los Angeles returns home in Week 4 to host AFC West-rival Kansas City, with the last five home matchups between the teams decided by one score. The Chargers then have their bye in Week 5 for the second-straight year and the fourth time since the open date was re-instituted in the 1990 season.

Following the bye, Los Angeles goes back on the road to Denver against another AFC West opponent. The Bolts then stay on the road in Week 7, heading to Arizona for a Monday Night Football bout on ESPN+. It's the team's third-ever game against the Cardinals on Monday night. The Chargers have won five of the last six games against Arizona, including each of the last two.

In Week 8, the Bolts host the New Orleans Saints for the first time since 2016. Los Angeles holds a 7-6 advantage in the series and has topped 25 points scored in five of the last six games. A week later, the Chargers head back on the road to face the Browns, having won the last four games in the series, including two in Cleveland.

The Chargers then return to the City of Angels for a three-game homestand to close out November, first squaring off with the Tennessee Titans for the third-straight season. Each of the last eight games in the series have been won by the home team. Los Angeles then plays Cincinnati in Week 11, winning each of the last three games in the series, including a 19-point road victory in 2021 that saw Justin Herbert catch a two-point conversion to go along with 317 passing yards and three touchdowns.

The Chargers wrap their November SoFi Stadium residency with the Week 12 "Harbaugh Bowl" against the Baltimore Ravens on Monday Night Football. Brothers Jim and John Harbaugh will preside over the fourth prime-time game between the Chargers and Ravens and the first ever on Monday Night Football.

Los Angeles heads back across the country for a Week 13 matchup with Atlanta on Sunday, Dec. 1. The Bolts have won each of the past three games against the Falcons by three points, including the 2022 contest in Atlanta that saw Cameron Dicker make the game-winning field goal as time expired. A week later, the Chargers visit Kansas City for Sunday Night Football. It's the third-ever Sunday night game between the Chargers and Chiefs.

In Week 15, the Chargers return home to host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the first time since 2016. Los Angeles holds an 8-4 record in the series, including winning five of six games when scoring 25-plus points. The Bolts then host Denver for their home finale on Sunday, Dec. 22. Los Angeles boasts a 37-27 regular-season home record against the Broncos.

The Chargers close the 2024 calendar year in a Week 17 cross-country trip to New England on either Saturday, Dec. 28 or Sunday, Dec. 29. Last season, the Chargers defeated the Patriots, 6-0 — the team's first shutout victory since 2017. In the season finale, the Bolts head to Las Vegas to play the Raiders on either Saturday, Jan. 4 or Sunday, Jan. 5, marking the 15th season finale against the AFC West foe. The Chargers have won four of the last five season finale matchups with the Raiders.

In addition to the 2024 regular-season schedule announcement, Los Angeles' preseason opponents have also been finalized. The Bolts open the preseason against the Seahawks at SoFi Stadium. The matchup marks the 19th preseason bout between the teams and the first in the City of Angels since 2019.

The Chargers then play the Rams at SoFi Stadium for the 41st preseason matchup between the clubs. In the alternating home/road preseason series, the Bolts won last year's preseason bout with the Rams "on the road" at SoFi Stadium, 34-17, and hold a 21-19 all-time advantage in the preseason.

Los Angeles wraps up the preseason in Week 3 by heading to Dallas to play the Cowboys. It's the 19th preseason matchup between the teams and the first in Dallas since a Chargers 20-7 victory in 2011.
